The Tea-Cha filter works best with very fine leaf tea to make a cup of tea in thirty seconds. Using as little as ONE GRAM per cup you can make tea that has more flavour than a teabag. The larger leaf size you use, the slower the extraction and you will have to use more tea to get a satisfactory result.
We recommend using a teaspoon per cup (2.5 grams) for black teas and half a teaspoon (1.5 grams) for green teas. Tea-Cha tea has been vacuum packed in the country of origin shortly after manufacture and arrives with much more flavour than stale teas that have not been vacuum packed. If the tea you are buying is not vacuum packed or does not give you information as to date of manufacture you will have no idea whether it is fresh or stale.
